EPISODE 62: MARIE KYOKO MOROHOSHI
Born to Japanese immigrant parents, Marie Kyoko Morohoshi is a sacred activist and queer Nisei (second-generation) Japanese American Reiki Master and Teacher. Her Reiki practice is informed by years of rigorous Zen, Chado (Way of Tea) and Ikebana (Way of Flowers) training she received at an early age.
She has participated in key social justice movements such as Standing Rock, Mauna a Wākea, and Run4Salmon, bringing her healing work to those in need.
Marie is dedicated to training BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and white allies in Reiki, focusing on a holistic, nature-based approach that reconnects students with the practice's shamanic and Buddhist origins. Her unique retreats combine Reiki with Shinto, Shugendo, and Lakota purification rituals—an organic and syncretic approach to reconnecting to our true selves, these practices help prepare any student or seasoned practitioner of Reiki to simply be Reiki.
